This wireless adapter will allow your SBC to connect to a wireless network. Recommended for the PhidgetSBC3.
This 802.11n Wi-Fi USB Adapter comes with a removable 2.4 GHz antenna and a mini-disc containing the adapter drivers.
We ran throughput tests on this adapter running on the 1073 - PhidgetSBC3 using the Iperf network testing tool. At a range of approximately 10 meters through walls in our office, an average of 19.6 Mbps was recorded. This is significantly less than the 300 Mbps maximum written on the box, because wireless throughput depends on many variables including the performance of the computer running it and the operating system being used. You can read more of our test results here.
The Wi-Fi adapter comes in a plastic package and includes:
- A Wi-Fi dongle adapter
- An RP-SMA Antenna
- A Mini-Disc containing adapter drivers
Connect the antenna to the dongle using the SMA connector, and then plug the adapter into a USB port on the 1073 – PhidgetSBC3. We do not recommend this adapter for use on the 1072 - PhidgetSBC2, because it does not come with drivers installed, and the kernel must be re-compiled in order to install them. If you have an SBC2, we recommend the 3702 - Wi-Fi USB Adapter 802.11b/g.
