The Phidget GPS provides the longitude and latitude of the board's position in signed decimal degree format. The position accuracy (best case) is 2.5m CEP (Circular Error of Probability).

The 1040 also provides altitude, heading and velocity as well as the time and date. It will also let you know when it has a satellite fix.

1044_0 - PhidgetSpatial Precision 3/3/3 High Resolution

The PhidgetSpatial Precision 3/3/3 combines the functionality of a 3-axis compass, a 3-axis gyroscope, and a 3-axis accelerometer all in one convenient package. It has enhanced precision in the accelerometer when measuring less than ±2g, and enhanced gyroscope precision at speeds less than 100°/s. The transition from high precision to low precision mode and back is completely seamless and automatic.

1045_1 - PhidgetTemperatureSensor IR

Product Description

The 1045 is an intelligent non-contact temperature sensor with a 10° field of view and a USB interface for easy connection to your computer. It takes an average of the temperature of objects placed within its cone of detection.

The 1045 outputs a continuous data flow every 32ms with an active alarm running in the background.; the temperature output data for distant objects ranges from -70°C to 380°C.

This particular revision of the 1045 has the circuitry placed on the reverse side of the board, to reduce measurement errors caused by self-heating.

The PhidgetEncoder Highspeed 4-Input can be used with a wide assortment of mechanical and optical encoders. The encoder should be of quadrature output type, indicating that there will be two quadrature output channels (usually labeled A and B) and an optional third output channel to signal when the index pin (a reference point for zero position or a complete revolution) has been reached.

Thermocouples are widely used to measure extreme temperatures impossible to measure with other types of sensors.

J, K, E and T thermocouples are directly supported in the library and return the measured temperature in °C.

It is possible to interface other thermocouple types by converting the measured potential returned by the Temperature Sensor into Celsius using the appropriate tables; the formula and links to the tables are described in the User Guide.

Product Description

The 1065 lets you control the direction, velocity and acceleration of one DC Motor. The motor is powered by an external power supply (9 to 28VDC).

Brushed DC Motors are very simple to understand, but very difficult to control precisely. By applying a voltage, or pulsing a voltage rapidly, at the terminals of the motor, current flows through the motor, and it will begin rotating. Depending on the direction of the current, the motor will rotate clockwise or counterclockwise. The 1065 changes the effective voltage by changing the percentage of time the full supply voltage is applied to the motor. By switching the voltage very quickly (a technique called PWM), the controller is made smaller, more efficient, and cheaper.

Product Description

The IR Distance Adapter is designed to interface Sharp IR distance sensors to an analog input on a PhidgetInterface board. Any sharp sensor with a supply voltage of 5V and an output voltage range falling within 0-5V is compatible with this adapter. The cable included with this adapter uses a JST S3B-PH connector, like the sharp sensors sold by Phidgets Inc. If your sharp sensor uses a different connector, you'll need to find a matching cable for it.

1103_1 - IR Reflective Sensor 10cm

Product Description

This sensor can detect the presence of objects at a distance of 0 to 10cm regardless of the object reflective properties. When an object enters the range of detection, SensorValue becomes zero, and when it leaves, it returns to 1000. The 1103 works just as well in both dim and well lit environments.

1104_0 - Vibration Sensor

Product Features
The vibration sensor uses a piezoelectric element to measure vibration on a surface and connects to an analog input.

Product Description

This sensor buffers a piezoelectric transducer. As the transducer is displaced from the mechanical neutral axis, bending creates strain within the piezoelectric element and generates voltages.

If the assembly is supported by its mounting points and left to vibrate “in free space” the device will behave as a form of vibration sensor. The sensing element should not be treated as a flexible switch, and is not intended to be bent.

1106_0 - Force Sensor

This simple force sensor can be used as a button for human input or to sense the presence of a small object.

The 1106 reads 0 when no force is applied. As force increases on the circular button the value increases towards 1000.

It is intended as a user input device (i.e. recognizing that someone is pushing a button).

1108_0 - Magnetic Sensor

The 1108 is a Hall-effect sensor that provides a voltage output that is proportional to the applied magnetic field.

1109_0 - Rotation Sensor

Product Features

This rotary potentiometer has 300° of travel and connects to an analog input.

Product Description

The 1109 can be rotated 300 degrees and outputs a number between 0 and 1000 based on the shaft position. The maximum resistance of the potentiometer is 10K ohm.

1111_0 - Motion Sensor

Product Features

Sensing changes in IR light, this sensor detects movement in a small room or hallway and connects to an analog input.

Product Description

 

The 1111 detects changes in infrared radiation that occur when there is movement by a person (or object), which is different in temperature from the surroundings. As this sensor detects temperature differences, it is well suited to detecting the motion of people by their body temperature.

1112_1 - Slider 60

Ideal for user input, this slider has 60mm of travel and connects to an analog input.

Product Description

 

The Slider 60 is a linear potentiometer - the resistance varies linearly with the position of the slider. SensorValue varies from 0 to1000 over the 60mm travel of the slider. The maximum resistance is 10K ohms.

1113_0 - Mini Joy Stick Sensor

Product Features

This two-axis joystick has a momentary pushbutton switch and connects to two analog and one digital input.

Product Description

This miniature joystick has two axes and a pushbutton. Each axis, up/down and left/right, has a potentiometer with a center value of approximately 500. When you move the Joystick from its center position the value will increase or decrease depending on the direction.

1116_0 - Multi-turn Rotation Sensor

This multi-turn potentiometer measures 10 full rotations, useful for input applications that require a fine adjustment. Connects to an analog input.
