1048_0 - PhidgetTemperature Sensor4-Input

Product Description

 

Thermocouples are widely used to measure extreme temperatures impossible to measure with other types of sensors.

J, K, E and T thermocouples are directly supported in the library and return the measured temperature in °C.

It is possible to interface other thermocouple types by converting the measured potential returned by the Temperature Sensor into Celsius using the appropriate tables; the formula and links to the tables are described in the 1048 User Guide.

Very long thermocouples are okay (even 100m), but if there is measurement stability issues or USB resets, ferrite beads can be added to the thermocouple wire close to the Phidget Temperature Sensor. See our tutorial on Addressing EMI Issues.

1054_0 - PhidgetFrequencyCounter

Measures the frequency of an analog or digital signal and power small devices like Hall Effect sensors, flow rate sensors, and tachometers.

Product Description

The 1054 - PhidgetFrequencyCounter is designed to count events from an analog signal over time and calculate a frequency from it. The product can count a logic level or signal centered around zero volts. Signals with a different ground can be counted, provided they are within the common mode range (+-10V).

The Frequency Counter can also power small devices, such as Hall Effect, flow rate sensors, tachometers, and other sensors.

The PhidgetFrequencyCounter contains two channels to sense two different inputs. Each channel has two different circuits to sense for logic level-frequencies or zero-centered frequencies. The measurable frequency is accurate to 0.25% up to 1MHz. The Frequency Counter may measure frequencies past 1 Mhz, but the input voltage specifications will not hold.

The PhidgetFrequencyCounter can measure frequencies down to ~ 0.01Hz. However the response time of these measurements is directly related to the frequency, thus it could take 1 or 2 periods(100-200s) to detect the input frequency.

Screw Terminal Block: 2-Pin, 3.5 mm Pitch, Side Entry

Details

These side-entry screw terminal blocks have a pitch of 3.5 mm (0.138″). Each block has two terminals for the stripped ends of 24 – 18 AWG wires, and units can slide together to make longer strips. They are rated for 125 V, 10 A (UL) 

Wires are held in place and released from these wire-to-board terminal blocks by the simple adjustment of a screw. These blocks let you easily make temporary connections to your PCB.

30:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor MP

This gearmotor is a miniature (0.94" x 0.39" x 0.47") brushed DC motor with 30:1 metal gearbox, similar to Sanyo’s popular 12 mm gearmotors. These units have a 0.365"-long, 3 mm-diameter D-shaped output shaft.

Overview

These tiny brushed DC gearmotors are intended for use at 6 V, though in general, these kinds of motors can run at voltages above and below this nominal voltage, so they should comfortably operate in the 3 – 9 V range (rotation can start at voltages as low as 0.5 V). Lower voltages might not be practical, and higher voltages could start negatively affecting the life of the motor

The HRXL-MaxSonar-WRM ignores smaller targets and only reports the range to target with the largest acoustic return. This is our most advanced weather resistant sensor designed for target detection and ranging outdoors or in tank or bin applications.

The HRXL-MaxSonar-WRM sensors are equipped with filtering firmware which allows the sensor to ignore smaller targets and noise, and still report the target that gives the largest acoustic return. (The sensor will also reject periodic noise, even noise that has a higher amplitude than the acoustic return from the target.) This gives users the flexibility to consistently range larger targets in the presence of clutter and noise. If the largest target is removed from the field of view, the HRXL-MaxSonar-WRM will switch to the target that gives the next largest detectable return.

RoboClaw 2x60A Motor Controller with USB (V4)

Overview

The RoboClaw from Ion Motion Control (formally Orion Robotics) is an efficient, versatile, dual-channel synchronous regenerative motor controller. It can supply two brushed DC motors with 5 A, 15 A, 30 A, or 60 A continuous (depending on the model) at voltages from 6 V to 34 V, and it allows for peak currents up to twice the maximum continuous rating.

The RoboClaw features dual quadrature decoding capability. A built-in PID routine can be used for closed-loop speed control, maintaining motor speeds even if the load varies, or the encoder counts and speeds can be read directly from the RoboClaw for use with an external control system. Analog feedback is also supported for closed-loop position control.

A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Carrier

Details

The A4988 stepper motor driver carrier is a breakout board for Allegro’s A4988 microstepping bipolar stepper motor driver. The driver features adjustable current limiting, overcurrent and overtemperature protection, and five different microstep resolutions (down to 1/16-step).

It operates from 8 – 35 V and can deliver up to approximately 1 A per phase without a heat sink or forced air flow (it is rated for 2 A per coil with sufficient additional cooling).

Outputs a voltage from -10V to +10V.

Product Description

The PhidgetAnalog 4-Output Produces a voltage over -10V to +10V. This voltage will be asserted up to +-20mA. An error will be reported when this current is exceeded, and the voltage the customer is getting is no longer accurate. The voltage is produced with 12 bit resolution (4.8mV).

The board is not isolated and all 4 channels share a common ground.

All the power is supplied by the USB bus.
